Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hello my name is Joel and I have a
2010 Buick Enclave and it's actually
my old lady's vehicle and she
brought this to my attention a few
days ago that the air is only
blowing out of the dash, the AC
cools just fine and the heater blows
warm air just fine so that is not the
issue so again the temperatures
work perfectly the issue is
controlling which vent the air blows
out of and right now it's stuck on
blowing out of the dash it won't
blow down at your feet and it won't
blow through the defrost vents
whenever you hit the mode button it
stays stuck on blowing out of the
dash, I went ahead and replaced
the mode door actuator and put in
a new one and when I put it in I
turned the ignition on and I pressed
the mode button and I saw the
actuator turning just fine so I know
that it works, but now my problem
is the air is blowing just out of the
defrost vent and it's stuck on that, I
believe my issue is having to
calibrate it which I have no clue on
how to do that, I removed the fuse
on the inside of the vehicle
passenger side which was the 15
amp HVAC fuse and left it out for
about a minute and put it back in
and turned the key on without
actually turning on the ignition and I
saw the actuator moving thinking
that it would reset but it always
ends back up in the same spot and
stays stuck there, I'm not a
mechanic so I don't have one of
those iPads where I can just push a
button to recalibrate the mode door
actuator, I pretty much done
everything I can and I'm about
ready to pull my hair out, the only
thing that I have not done is
disconnected the battery to try and
reset the mode door actuator, I've
tried googling this and on this topic
it is so hard to find any answers if
you please have any answers to
give me I would greatly appreciate
it thank you

Almost sounds as if the button is stuck in the on position for the operating vent....try disconnecting the button for that vent and try changing vent location. If it changes you have your answer.

Make sure new actuator in same position as old one or little knob that actuator turns is in right position if new actuator in let's say defrost position and control is in floor position when u turn control to vents it is already in highest position
