ENGINE POWER REDUCED Light

Asked by GuruWGJKQ Jun 02, 2019 at 02:17 PM about the 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt 1LT Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I haven’t had my red Cobalt (red hot
chili pepper) for 2 weeks yet. She has
142,000 miles. She runs smooth and
is all I could’ve asked for if I tried. She
is my first car in almost 5 years. The
check engine light came on while I
had been driving around 30 mins
yesterday. I dont notice any
difference is the way she drives. Later
that evening, I started her up for work
and the check engine light had gone
off... Today, after a 12 hour shift, I
cranked her to leave work and the
check engine light was back on as
well as engine power reduced” was
on my dash. I couldn’t get any
response from pushing the gas pedal
at all. After cranking her back up less
than 10 mins later, the engine power
reduced” was off in my dash but the
check engine light was still on. Very
strange. Autozone gave me a few
options of what it could be. P0108,
P0013, P0641. Grrr. I’m not in any
financial position to spend money on
the wrong problems with the chili
pepper. I bought her “as is” for 2500.
I guess my question is, is this an easy
and affordable enough fix or would it
be more worth my time to start
looking for another car????

Get another car!!! I have a 2010 and my EPR msg comes on when I'm trying to accelerate fast. I've put so much money into this car that I was better off getting another one years ago. Please don't put money into this crappy car. I financially cannot put more into this car. I've changed the wiring harness, throttle drive (I think that's what it is called), my clutch, and even the sensors and NOTHING! I can tell you that as much money as I've put in I could've made a handsome down payment on a better car. Hope this helped.
