Will this damage fail an MOT test?

Asked by Shay010793 Aug 21, 2020 at 06:14 AM about the 2004 Vauxhall Zafira 1.8

Question type: General

I was hit by an uninsured driver and took some damage to the front
bumper of my car.

My MOT is now due for renewal but I'm not sure if it's going to be a
straight fail because of the damage. Where I live they expect you to
pay before even telling you that something obvious will cause a
failure.

I just wanted to know will this damage fail the MOT test?

Yes it will effect your inspection. You need a new headlight assembly to pass at a minimum. Have the car repaired before. If would say if you get pulled over for an expired inspection, you should have documentation of the accident, police report if you have one, and confirmation of your appointment at the auto body shop or insurance claim number, it might save you a fine.
