2009 Nissan Titan

Asked by Planitis Feb 20, 2019 at 02:47 PM about the 2009 Nissan Titan LE King Cab

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My Titan last year started blowing
white smoke on start up large plumes
and then would go away. It would
also burn oil. Now I had the engine
overhauled replace heads, head
gasket etc. was in the shop for 2
weeks. Got it out it still smokes and
burns oil like 1 quart per 6 weeks.
Only smokes on start up. I have read
it can be much simpler things like
emissions but there are no codes.

I think the shop did a bad job. Did they resurface the heads? I hope they stand behind their work!!! Don't let them blame emissions because that is BS.

Did they also replace the piston rings ? that is the reason why it is still smoking if they did not replace.

They did resurface the heads. Also they did not come up with the emissions answer that was me. I read in another feed where a couple of guys had the Nissan truck same engine doing the same thing and it was emissions on theirs.
