Water reducing in radiator

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a Honda CRV 2009. I bought this about 8 months ago. 2 months after
buying in highway I got an overheating. The car was towed to a mechanic
shop and he checked saying that the engine must be repaired or replaced.
He advised that since the car was not gone long however it is possible to
repair it and he did it. What I find now the water is reducing in radiator again
coming to neck. The water in water tank will be reducing also however, I
wont see any trace of water in oil tank. Also when I pull oil stick there is no
any milky color. I took the car to mechanic he checked radiator saying
radiator doesnot have external leackage. My question is if there is no
external leakage and no oil in engine then where water leakes out. Please let
me know. I am really confused and stressed.

Its probably what we mechanics call a cold water leak. Drips from the water pump or a slow external leak he cannot see. I would seriously advise you to see another mechanic with fresh eyes. Let him know what happened. The common problems with water leak on those cars are the seams on the radiator tend to leak and you cannot tell. But find a mechanic that will pressure test it and will see it.
