you either have a issue with power or ground to the instrument cluster or the cluster itself is at fault

I agree, either a loose connection or a bad ground connection somewhere. Find the ground wire and install a new ground wire to eliminate that possibility.

Sounds like my experience. Two trips to dealer they did nothing. A mechanic replaced my ignition switch($30) part, $60 labor , my problem solved.

I just bought a 2008 PT cruiser not even 1 week ago and this just happened to me tonight for the first time ever while driving down the highway. It happened again 5 or 6 more times in a 12 mile stretch. Car never fully lost power, but all of my indicator lights came on and every needle was jumping and then stopped by itself within 30 seconds each time. called my friend who was a diesel mechanic hoping she might have any guess as to what was the cause and her answer was the exact same. She thought either a loose connection or my instrument cluster. Any suggestions on my best route to go as to fixing this??
