Dealer says my BCM is no longer available

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The BCM in my 2009 Ford Taurus failed (parasitic drain) and the dealer says
they are no longer available anywhere. Do I really need to junk a perfectly good
car because Ford decided to stop making this key part? What are my options?

Contact your local mechanic and ask them to pull some strings and get one made, it's gonna cost a bunch but it'll be worth it

It's probably no longer in the dealer's supply chain, but then they only want to deal with the newer stuff. Parts stores may still have NOS laying around, and you can get them as refurbished units online, or even find used ones at a pull-a-part or other salvage yards.
