Any complaints about 3009 Hyundai Sonata tan seats discoloring in middle?

Asked by caobresly May 04, 2009 at 06:08 PM about the 2009 Hyundai Sonata GLS FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Purchased vehicle in January '09.  Noticing that the seats are discoloring
in the middle section of the seat.  This material is different than rest of the seat.  We own and 2008 Santa Fe and previously owned a 2006 Sonata and have never had a problem before.

I have a 2006 LX with leather and the middle of my driver seat is slightly discolored on the back right where a belt would hit it. It's probably normal wear.

The tanning process if hard to master and I'm not sure which manufacturer provides their seats. However, I would expect some fading as time progresses. I see from the date of your post you didn't have your vehicle very long so I am surprised you have discoloration so soon. I'd take it back to your Hyundai dealer but you may only get the pat answer that it is normal to expect some discoloration whereby you won't get much satisfaction.
