Mini Cooper transmission light

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi there,
I just bought a 2008 mini Cooper s with an
automatic transmission. Every time I start the car
up the transmission light pops on and yellow for a
couple of seconds and then turns off. It does the
same thing whenever I stop the car and take my
keys out. It never comes on while I am driving. Is
this normal? Or is this some type of warning? This
is my first mini I have ever owned so it's a new
experience...

Okay, now my oil lamp is popping on randomly for like 2 seconds and goes away. It's not everytime o drive either. I checked my service queue and nothing is showing as needing service. I just replaced the oil less than a month ago as I also had to replace the timing chain and clean the engine out from debris. This car has been literally torn appart in the short few months I've had it and it is infuriating me.

Unfortunately I don't think I'd be able to get what I currently owe on it with the problems it is having. I'm hoping I'm having a sensor issue that's causing my lights to act up because my low tire pressure sensor keeps popping on too.

If all those lights come on after you start it then they go away then its probably like any other vehicle when you start it and all your indicator lights come on then turn-off. I wouldn't trip unless those lights stay on
