Are the wires in engine compartment normal?

Question type: General

I had the hoses and belts replaced on my 2008 Mazda3.   After arriving home I opened the hood and noticed those wires in the center of the photo.....I cannot remember seeingthem before.   Did the mechanic forget to cover them or is that normal?

I am sure they were there before. Maybe they shifted location a little when it was worked on.
