2008 ford focus se wont start and the electricity wont work

Asked by Brent Sep 02, 2019 at 04:18 PM about the 2008 Ford Focus SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

my 2008 ford focus se has had trouble starting and i would have to push in
the ignition really hard to get it to start, but eventually I would be able to get it
to start, but just recently i went to start it and the same thing happened but
this time there was no starting it. so i pulled the relay out to check if the coil
was bad and put it back in and all of the electric in my car stopped working
and when i try to do anything like unlock or lock my car or turn my lights on
or anything that requires electricity nothing works and there is a clicking in
my fuse panel under my dash by my steering wheel. I don't know what the
issue could be at this point. Is there anyone who could help?

I had to replace the housing unit to the ignition $374 but now it starts right up with no problem & I don't have to push in the ignition key at all...
