is 16k too much for 140k miles on a 2008 cheverlot suburban z71?

Question type: Shopping & Pricing

I noticed a clean nice looking  2008 Chevy Suburban. the main problem I have is that it has 140k mile on it and its only 5 years old. that 28 a year. carfax gives it one owner and no accidents on file. would I be a fool for this purchase or will a Suburban go another 100k?
also is 16k a lot for the high mileage?

Vehicles are easily doing 200k now. The question is maintenence during the 140k. Get an extensive inspection by a certified technician. Sounds a little high to me on price though ...

high mileage doesnt scare me -- it means it ran and someone lliked it -- low mileage is scarier because it may have been broken down a lot or it was crap and no one would drive it -- like a Harley. I've bought all of my last 5 vehicles with 150K or more and run them to about 250K and it works out well for me

Look before you leap. High mileage vehicles have parts that may wear out. Check the breaks, hoses, belts, fluids, and engine for leaks. Shocks good? All these things will go bad some time down the road. One reason for selling a loving SUB is it is starting to nickle and dime someone to death. Do the home work and if there are repair records, look at what has been replaced and if there are any repeat replacement of fixes. If you want it, buy it.
