Wont shift at first
start out idle high
and than after
awhile it shifts
and runs fine

Have your throttle position sensor checked out. Unfortunately, this part is integrated into the actual throttle body for our platform, so would need to replace the whole throttle body IF that's your issue. There are others that mess with this, like a stuck fan clutch.
