Chevy Cobalt PO700 PO977 codes. Debris in Trans Pan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2008 Cobalt LS, Transmission suddenly wouldn't shift to third gear. Throwing PO700 and PO977. I grounded the TCM, Swapped in a spare TCM, Checked wiring, and then dropped the pan and changed the filter and 7 qts of fluid. When I dropped the pan there was a bunch of plastic bits in the bottom. I figured it was part of the old filter but I'm not so sure. I've done everything but replace the solenoid (too much work, will probably scrap the car). I was hoping it would be one of the simpler things. Anyway, my question is about the plastic. Is this part of the internal workings of my transmission? Where else could it come from?

1 Answer

It really does not matter what the debris are as the only way to fix it is a rebuild.
