Will 05 chevy Malibu engine fit in 08 chevy cobalt?

Probably. It looks like the same L61 14, 2.2L engine was used in both cars. There will be differences in the electronics though so you'll need to use all the sensors etc off the original engine to keep it compatible with the rest of the car. Remember though, I said probably. Do your homework to be totally sure.
