2008 Town and Country

Asked by JAPTC Jan 19, 2020 at 02:50 PM about the 2008 Chrysler Town & Country Touring FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

After a very cold morning my passenger sliding door will not open using the
electronic buttons (Fob / Side / Above).  It was frozen shut, then it did open.
It moves manually just fine but now will not latch.  The motor is not making
any sound and not pulling the door closed as it normally would.  The other
side and all doors are fine.  I pulled the battery cable to reset and checked
the fuse node and still nothing.  Any ideas?  Thanks

I'd have to check applicable trouble codes? Even with the code, not sure I could track the system? The codes I saw listed for sliding doors are manufacturer specific codes. To read codes yourself, at the least, you need an obd 2 code reader that will work with your vehicle and read manufacturer specific codes. The voltage for both sides, come from the same fuse, hot all the time, red wire to passenger door and driver side. It's not the fuse. My wiring diagram isn't good enough to track everything?

Hi Oilyspill, thanks. I double checked and the the door will open and close with the handle from inside, But does not motor the back part of the hatch shut. Again, no buttons do anything for the drivers side slider and there is no motor sounds at all. I can still lock and unlock the door manually and electronically. I will check the codes at the autostore tomorrow, maybe they can read something. Thank you!

Around here, some of the national brand auto stores will only read po codes, for free. good luck
