how to change thermostat on 2008 pt cruiser

Car overheats  &bubbles back into coolant reservoir

Thermostat is located in the housing directly below the radiator pressure cap, with the upper radiator hose attached to it. Might be possible to remove housing and thermostat without removing upper intake manifold, depending on clearance. Drain radiator first.
