Can it be a loose or disconnected diode on the alternator?

I would be inclined to check the contents of Toyota Technical Service bulletin.....TSB-0149-08 before you consider replacement of parts.

I will. I am going to check for loose connections first, then have my mechanic friend check it out. Maybe replace diode only. Thanks Tony.

Alternator diodes can be easily checked without disassembly of the Alt. Set the Voltmeter to AC volts. Red lead of VM to output terminal on the ALT. Black lead to a good ground. Start up the vehicle ...let it idle...and put on all electrical loads including the rear def. Meter should read no more than 0.5 volts AC. More than a half a volt AC....bad Alt...and/or....diode.

My mechanic checked the alternator. It seems to be ok. Gonna check cable antenna connection next. I hear they can go bad. TY for your help.

If the antenna is embedded in the rear window, the answer may be simple, as it actually might be damaged and the entire rear glass is in need of replacement. ... This can cause electricity to leak from the defroster circuit to the antenna circuit which causes the interference when the defroster is activated.
