Nitro AC compressor

I took my 2008 Dodge Nitro in. It is a 3.7 liter. They
said I needed a AC Compressor,belt and tensioner.
Someone else said they can bypass the AC
compressor and you just won’t have AC and save
some money. They said you can’t do that. I would
like to know what you think. Thank you could be
wrong on the trim also but is 4wd
