Dome light does not come on when car
door opens...when I push one or both
buttons the bulbs light up. Is there a
main switch for when I open car door?

There is a "door ajar" switch, look along the door jamb. If the switch is not visible, then it is internal to the door. Most Saturn's I've ever seen had the switch along the jamb, fairly easy to replace, the switches cost between $6-15. You can also pick them up super cheap at a local pull-a-part.
