Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Fuse blows after a couple days at first. Now as soon as i
turn the running lights on they blow. I havent tried them on
ghe auto setting cause its light outside so they wont come
on. Its a 2008 f250. The first fuse worked for a while like i
said. Now they just keep blowing. I know i could have a
bare wire is there any other things it could be or a place i
should start looking?

Start at the lamp holders, the lamp holders themselves can corrode or short, unplug each one individually and retry power to see if fuse stays intact. If not then work your way back along the harness looking for any frayed wiring. A fuse that blows that quick is usually a dead short. Also, when replacing bulbs, be sure to use some bulb grease in them.

Usually a fuse blows few seconds after you turn the lights on , turn them on and off only for a second, have some one out look at all the lights as you turn on , if one of the lights has a short will not turn on, and if you check with a current tester for ground both sides will act as ground , You can rule problems with light holders if all your running lights work, inspect your hardness we’re comes in contact with metal parts, look for corrosion or broken wires touching metal surface.
