I think my computer messed up

Asked by Confused88 Oct 03, 2018 at 08:53 AM about the 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe Z71 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My husband always runs the gas till the last drop.
A few days ago it turned off on him as soon as she
got home. He brought gas and it wouldn't start.
Kept putting gas, a couple gallons at this point, but
wouldn't start. We drained the battery trying to
start it. We got juice from his sister's car and still
nothing. We left it alone till the next day, dead
battery. So we got another jumpstart from his
sister only to have the truck say unknown driver,
doesn't mark gas, radio stays on, a/c doesn't work,
doesn't mark battery power, or oil life. We had had
issues with the electric parts here and there before
but nothing major like this. Any suggestions??

Any chance the jumpers had reverse polarity during the many attempted starts? If so the computer is toast. Tell you hubby all the job in the fuel tank settles to the bottom of the tank and running it low puts that stuff into the very expensive injection system. Just sayin
