Electrical problem?

Possible charging system issue.

Have had no problems with charging system. Even had it checked. ECM or PCM problem?

Sure throw a computer at it that always fixes it!! Try doing some more research.

Suspect a heat related problem involving the electronics in the vehicle. Only way it can be detected is when in failure mode. Dealership or mechanic shop with proper diagnostic tools required. They will have to run the car until failure to properly find the problem.

Will not start after sitting for a week plus the exterior light take a long time to go out

I’m having the same type of issues with mine 2003 ford explorer 2 door sport. i thought it was only the starter but i had to get a new key and make sure to link the chip in the key to the car to make sure it turns on. It runs alright that’s about it. I’m not too sure where to go from here i have a running car but after sitting for any period of time longer than about a week i’m scared it won’t work anymore. my radio display doesn’t work the radio it’s self turns off and on all the time the quality is terrible compared to what it used to be. the clock on the top near the sun roof doesn’t work at all. the lights work and actually one day i got into my car and they never shut off. i had to unplug the fuse hoping to save my battery from dying. 4x4 low doesn’t work at all. the car doesn’t recognize it’s in that gear when i have it selected. also my gear indicator doesn’t work so i have to count. and it doesn’t show how much gas it has left. i want to prevent and fix all future issues but i don’t know where to even start it seems like everything in the car has an issue. sometimes the windows work but it’s very very rare.

Problem was found to be a broken hot wire to the security module
