Why won’t my car start after replacing the battery and alternator?

Asked by Guru55J4H Dec 28, 2017 at 07:44 PM about the 2004 Ford Explorer Limited V6 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car was dead and wouldn’t take a jump. Pulled the
alternator and battery and both tested bad. Put in new
battery  and alternator and still won’t start. What could be
the problem now???

Does the engine turn over? If not I suspect bad battery connections.

What does this mean" wouldn’t take a jump"? Are you saying nothing happened ,, no cranking or anything ,,, or do you mean it cranked and didn't start?

And a Ford explore if you have weak battery and you try to start it lots of times it will lose the code to the antitheft system and will not crank over until you get a locksmith to come and re-run the program reset the key back with the computer.
