Question type: Maintenance & Repair

03 toyata camry xle Slow acceleration
from a stop When my car is at a full
rest, and then I go to move forward or
reverse, it takes a second or so for the
car to pick up some speed. It picks up
a bit, but not much. After it gets to a
certain point it accelerates much
better. It my idle too low? Because I
also noticed that when I release the
brake, my car hardly moves if at
all.What could be the problem

When the engine is running, are there any warning lights on or flashing? With the engine running...have someone pull the transmission dip stick to check the oil level. Follow instructional procedure in your Owners Manual. Get back wth results.

@last_chance_garage There aren't any lights lite up on my Dash. The level should be good there isn't any puddles after I've been parked for a while

Understood...however...it sounds like you may have a tranny problem. First step in the diagnosis is to pull the dip stick and check the fluid level and Odor. If the fluid smells burnt or is dark brown or black in color...transmission problem is suspected.

Suggestion....with a clean paper towel.....wipe the transmission dip stick take a picture of the oil smear and add it to your reply.

@last_chance_garage I did that and posted a picture but crgurus removed it and said it was pornographic idk how a napkin with oil on it js pornographic but okay

Well....thanks for my first good laugh for the day. Seems their screening software does not know the difference between femine hygene and the steps one takes to diagnose transmission problems. Suggest you take that sample to the nearest mechanic with a good reputation for analysis. Good luck. I'm still LOL.
