Is there any quick temporary fix

Asked by Areyonnah May 30, 2023 at 02:23 PM about the 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt LS Coupe FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I hit a large rock in the road that bent back and
cracked my transmission and transmission oil pan.
(Shown in image) I replaced the transmission oil pan
and filter but as i was doing so the cracked piece of
the transmission fell off. I tired to place it back in but
it didn't wont and now all my transmission oil is
leaking out. Is there any good temporary glues or
fixes i can use to seal the piece back on to make it to
the mechanic ?

Try JB Weld. The high heat kind. I've had good luck with it. Make sure you clean the mating surfaces well, they're completely dry, and you wait 24 hours before you use the vehicle or refill the transmission with fluid again. Hope that helps! Jim
