With CEL could mean many different parables. I just had the same exact issue with my older 2003 VW Jetta. The best thing to do is buy yourself a FIXD sensor. They are on sale right now. My mechanic told me I'm 10 days out for my CEL issue. My FiX sensor came in the mail and the MAF was an issue. I'd recommend going for that and clean or replace. It's much cheaper than paying mechanic. Yes o paid for my own tools to replace it. NAPA sells those pieces individuals. I then left my key on and let the ECU neutralize itself. All my warnings vanished.

You can visit your local auto parts store and have them scan the computer for trouble codes. Most stores will do it for free. When you get the codes post them here and we can help further. Jim

You can buy a cheap obd2 scanner for under $20 and scan this and any car if ever need-be. But, on Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep, you can simply put your key into the ignition, put it to the start position (without trying to start it), then back to the off position 3 times (fast), and leave it in the start position (without starting it). After a few moments, you should see the codes on the odometer, followed by "Done". If you have no codes, you'll only see "Done"
