How do I engage AWD on 2007 Jaguar X Type

This is my second Jag my 2003 never fish tailed and I have the same tires on my 2007 and it is all over the place??? Is there something to 'do" to engage the AWD I'm in Vermont and I really need this question answered ASAP

I have a light that comes on when my tires are low when temps are below 20 degrees but after I drive a bit it goes out.
