04 acura tl won't start

Asked by Josh Mar 20, 2017 at 03:25 PM about the 2004 Acura TL FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Went through a car wash and car started running
funny flash in cel  for missfire....turned car off and
had no crank..
Bum started it home...checked all fuses, swapped
relays.. Jumped clutch pedal etc...all fine...replaced
grounds etc

No power to the small wire to the starter

Past two weeks I've been starting my car by an
alligator clip to the starter and jump it to the
battery.

I'm lost on what it could be.

I think it could be your Ignition Switch, also called 'Steering Switch' This switch is what takes the Key's input signal to the computer, which sends the starting signal to the starter solenoid (small wire you poked). Also, very BAD idea to use clip like that
