Hi. Bill from Ohio here. I believe that the system is basically "closed" except of course to drain and fill from the side of the engine. I would check with a qualified Jaguar Mechanic or contact your local Jaguar Club and poll their membership. Right after I purchased my 2003 X-Type, I joined a Jaguar Club and it was a great benefit to learning about my car. Good luck.
