when I start my pickup sometimes the CHECK GAUGES light come on and my tach wont work and when I start to drive it slips going into 3rd gear.I can turn the truck off, start it, the light goes out the tach works and it shifts just fine.any ideas?

so I figured out that if I hit my key inward the check gauge light goes out and the tach works and it shifts just fine.Im thinking maybe a bad ignition switch?
