Data Link Connector Broker 98 Buick Riviera

Regarding the data link connector - I went to take the emissions test and was
told the data link connector,on a 1998 buick riviera was broken...have no idea
how, as I have never touched it or even seen it.  The emissions person to me it
should be a cheap fix.  About how much should this cost me?
