My Rivieras 95&98 obtain speeds just over 105-110 mph and the governors kicks in. Is it possible to increase the vehicles speeds? It my understanding GM placed governors on these vehicle in order to place less speed rated tires to save money...

You could find someone to make a chip for the computer. The 95 is a OBD1, and the 98 is a OBDII computer.
Thanks...Please point me in right direction of who/where to obtain the suggested chips. And I understand Rowefast you say make a chip?
Motorvation Custom Performance Tuning. (901-275-2500) They have a web sight you can look up, they are out of Millington Tennessee. The guy name is TJ and you may have to leave a message or two...
Programmers can be used to eliminate governors.
^^^Thanks for this additional info. ?? Where would one find a programmer or is this a common tool?
You need to know what you are doing, but there are programs available for download to your computer to do it. Just need a few items.
I am not totally up on the programmers, scan tools, code readers, but you may want to check around your area at some shops, If someone has a top of the line analyzer, they may be able to do this.
Not a common tool, it is a specialized tool for auto repair. I have a simple one for diagnostics but has no control over the computer.
