Anti theft light on

Asked by Douglas Jul 01, 2016 at 07:02 PM about the 2004 Chrysler Town & Country FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2004 T&C and one da I shut
the car off went in the house put my
bags down, Came back outside and
tried to restart the van and it would
start to start and then it dies. I
repeated this process until the battery
died. I then took the battery cables off
turn the light switch on for 30 seconds
then tried to restart. It still didn't turn
the anti theft system off. So I tried to
bang on the dash and that didn't work
either. What should I do. Please help
get my van back rolling Agen.

I just want to share my experience. ..i bought a 1997 chrysler town and country.. Nice inside and out...low miles and thought i was getting the deal of a lifetime. Drove it a week and the security enacted..local mechanic had it towed to the dealership. And a new body control module.. Reflased twice...then sensors..a year of agravation. Dealerships. And senarios. And replacing parts. I found to reset the security lock and unlock the liftgate with the key. After two years of observation and more senarios..my instrument cluster would stop working and when it was shut off..it would enact the security. I would get to the back of it and wiggle the wires and it would start working..over 5 years i have went thru 3 clusters replacements and had one resodered. Best go to junk yard and get one .. It is the connectors on the back of the board inside the cluster.. Hope this saves you all the aggravation i went through.
