Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I bought a 2007 Buick Lucerne 4.6l I was told the
fans were new and they are but they won’t come on
when the fans do come on the oxy fuse blows
leaving me with no cooling fans or ac and since I’ve
had it I’ve replaced all engine mounts And both
front hub I’ve had a mechanic work on the fans
which was a waste of money when the fans work
everything works fine the car shifts fine soon as
that oxy fuse pops the car jerks when shifting the
stabilitrack and traction control lights come on I
also have a code for the map sensor any idea on
why that fuse continues to blow if you had this
problem what was it you fixed

To troubleshoot electrical problems It is almost impossible to do without an accurate schematic of the electrical/electronics in your vehicle. So your first task is to get the schematics I have seen them on line in digital format for less than $40. If someone on this form would be kind enough to provide some it would be helpful to all on this site. With a schematic I will give you all the help you need to trace the circuit and test to see what is wrong. What fuse is blowing exactly. Can you post a picture of the fusebox and identify the fuse that goes plus a picture of the fuse description on your cover. At least that will give me a start to help you.

is this the fusebox and correct fuse identification in the engine bay. If so tell me exactly what fuse is blowing they are all numbered on the right hand side. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8WiyDgokeY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8WiyDgokeY

I got your reply but I did not get any pictures of your fusebox and the cover labelling each fuse and relay. Knowing this will narrow your problem down to one circuit and if we are lucky only one schematic is needed. Then we will find the schematic.

Ok I found it Please read this link https://sparkys-answers.com/2017/07/2006-buick-lucerne-runs-hot.html

https://sparkys-answers.com/2017/07/2006-buick-lucerne-runs-hot.html You have a short circuit. Most likely when u changed the engine mounts some wires got pinched and are causing a short. You will have to trace the wires from the fan and oxygen sensor wires and pay close attention to where they might be pinched between the engine and chassis

This car has been nothing but problems however I think it is more who I bought it off of then the car!!! The electrical seems to just be off!!! Part of my problem was in fact that funky fuse, however I found two others blown. It ran almost like a dream at least last night. Today new problems. Now alternator is not charging. Clanking noise in the front end. I already replaced control arms, struts, strut mounts. Today I noticed the dog bone mount to be toast. And this car only had 101,000 miles on it. Sat for the last 5 years. It also has the 4.6 motor. Does anybody know if any of the 4.6 came with super charge or any kind of turbo? The reason I ask is cause on passenger side under hood on the motor looks like something used to be there and there are two plugs just hanging.

That was a component that went to the heating core that had a recall so the dealership just took them off
