My blower won't shut off.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I replaced the blower resistor once and it fixed the problem but only for a couple
of months.  It is now doing it again.  What could be causing the blower resistor
to go bad?

2 things, when replacing the resistor, you MUST replace the pigtails that go with it also. These pigtails melt internally. Also, your blower motor may be drawing too many amps, may have to replace the motor. I'd start with resistor and pigtail if it were me.

Thank you but the problem with that is there has been a updated design of the blower resistor for my truck and it no longer uses a pigtail. It is basically "plug and play" now. I am currently looking for the correct part # for the blower motor but the only part # I have been able to find that states it fits my truck is for "without rear air" and my truck has rear air. I am about ready to beat my head on my desk as it has been very frustrating.
