2007 Chevy Tahoe LT Won't turn over or click

Asked by Guru94KY3D Sep 18, 2020 at 01:35 PM about the 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe LT 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2007 Chevy Tahoe LT with a new alternator ran great for about a month and
then replaced the 25 Fuse behind the cab fuse box and now the starter won't
engage.  I can hear the fuel pump, dash lights up but no ignition.  Please help.
Battery is new in the last month, terminals are clean and good.

i'd have to make sure battery has a full charge and all battery connections are good and clean, all ends, not just at the battery. next, i'd probably bypass everything just to see if starter motor will crank the engine. If you try that, make sure transmission is in park or neutral and parking brake is set. make sure vehicle can't move. if starter relay is removeable, remove it, use jumper wire at two cavities for switch side of relay, it should crank. Another way is to short the two terminals at the starter motor, itself. you could use a long shank screwdriver or remote starter button. if you get no reaction, you may to remove starter motor and test it. one way, hook up jumper cables properly from starter motor to battery, at the least, it should kick out drive gear and spin. Some of the national brand auto stores will test starter for you, if you think that might be the issue?
