What's the most likely reason my cruise control suddenly stopped working?

My 2007 FF will suddenly try to stall if I get on the gas too quickly. Replaced the
ECU and fuel module. All check engine lights have cleared but the problem still
exists just not as badly. Cruise control has quit working also. When it jerks and
tries to stall, the security light comes on briefly.
