This happens when the car is cold or every time? When did you first notice the change in RPM's
It just started this afternoon, the RPMs drop slightly when I put it into reverse, but when I put into drive it went up & then down to 1500. But literally it drove itself to the store, speed limit 25 i had to ride the brakes bc it wouldn't let down.
I would suggest that you take the car to a mechanic to have the condition fixed. Remember, riding the brakes will create another problem, soon you will have to replace the pads.
Thank you for all your suggestions. It ended up being vacuum hoses that had come detached. My friends husband was able to diagnosis & fix in about 3mins once he located the hoses (2) in question. I also needed to replace my pc valve which was $6.11 & i fixed that myself.
