2000 Saturn transmission problem

Asked by Elizabeth Jun 24, 2018 at 01:32 AM about the 2000 Saturn S-Series 4 Dr SL1 Sedan

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Late/rough shifting. Had it checked out and was
told it was the shift solenoid a. But when I checked
them they all tested good but I just replaced them
all anyway. After putting everything back together
my car runs the same/worse than before. I really
don't want to junk it. Any opinion is a good one in
this case. Thank you for taking your time to help

I don't know exactly but it's around the 180k mark. I am going to take it into some shops thanks

The input shaft nut more than likely came loose. You need to pull the side cover off of the transmission which requires lowering the sub-frame a little and moving the strut out of the way. You need to pull it off, put some red loctite on it and torque it down to 111 lb/ft. Fairly easy job if you have the tools and a little mechanical knowledge.
