what is a p1404 specific code, incorrect rear ratio

check engine light has been on for four months, why? Other than this car runs fine.

it's your egr valve you will want to try the following Get A can of CRC QD Electronics Connection cleaner and spray out the EGR connector and socket, allow to dry completely. Open the under hood fuse box and pull the PCM B fuse wile waiting for the EGR to dry out.Reconnect EGR and replace fuse. See if the code comes back. May end up cleaning the EGR or replacing depending.
