Truck won't start

Asked by ret7army Mar 19, 2016 at 09:09 AM about the 1999 GMC Sierra Classic 3500 4 Dr SL Crew Cab 2WD LB

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Started truck the other day and got going about a block down the road when it
quit and wouldn't start again, it has a full tank.  replaced fuel filter still wouldn't
start.  Got a code checker and it shows no codes in the memory.  Anyone got
some ideas?

You check the coolant temperature sensor wont run far if it is bad

Got good spark - checked both the distributor and a plug ... haven't tried pulling the coolant sensor - yet... but as an old fella once said, "It's got fire, and it's got fuel, so it's bound to run" Going to try and change out the fuel pump next, previous problem we had a weak pump, it ran but not hard enough ... need mighty close to 60psi to get the fuel injectors to run
