Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Lost the keys to a 2001 gmc Sonoma 4.3 quad
cab. We bought a new ignition switch key cylinder I
drilled the old one out like I have done several
times and the cyclinder will not release. I have
done this several times before on other vehicles
and it wasn't that bad of a job this thing will not
release. What am I doing wrong can anybody help

Is there any way to get to the release with a drill bit or pee grinder?
