sometimes turn switch and dont start what is happening?

sometimes turn switch and dont start lleave for a while or for the next day and  
turn on, i wanna know what is happenning because i have done everything i

I have a 99 Lumina and replaced the battery because it was doing the same thing. Ran fine then every once in a while it wouldn't start. I talked to my brother and he suggested turning the key on and counting to five then crank it. It has started every time since. It all has to do with the voltage from the battery to the starter. Good luck.
