Car does not drive in "D",

Asked by jamrockp Aug 12, 2009 at 09:00 PM about the 2000 Jaguar S-TYPE 3.0L V6 RWD

When place the gear in drive "D" the car does not move. But if i move the gear stick to "4" it moves. If i move it to "4" and then back to "D" it will drive. But it wont drive if i move the gear stick to "D" first. Any idea. Thanks

Automatic transmission selector cable is out of adjustment. Take it a transmission shop or the stealership to get it fixed. They shouldn't charge more than an hour or two for labor.

I have a jag 3.0 v6 2003 reg and I can’t select any forward gears only reverse can you help me please
