Can you put a type X transmission into a type S jaguar

Absolutely not. The X type is a front wheel drive set up that is all wheel drive, the S Type is rear wheel. That said, the transmission from a Lincoln LS will fit. That's what I put in mine and saved a few hundred but you have to match it up to your VIN it isn't a one size fits all.
