Transmission stuck any help

Asked by Juliobess1853 Aug 22, 2017 at 02:02 PM about the 2002 Buick Rendezvous CX AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 02 Buick rendezvous it seemed like
transmission was trying to slip so I stopped at
store to check transmission fluid said it was bone
dry so added some and on my way I went.. noticed
no problems stopped at next store and car would
go in gear but wouldn't move just rev up in every
gear... finally got going but as soon as foot let off
gas back to just revving up while trying to drive
down road.. ended up having to be towed home...
any help would be great

Sounds to me like you have a transmission fluid leak. Being low on fluid is causing the transmission not to work correctly. Being low on fluid may have damaged the transmission. You should add fluid to get it to show full on the dipstick and check. Check the underside of the vehicle for fluid, probably all over behind the transmission.

It says it has fluid and now when I start it it has a sound of rattling cans... but will move for all of two seconds before it starts revving up again

Unfortunately it sounds like you have a damaged transmission... :-(
