My 04 buick rainier 8 cylinder oil pressure gauge continuously stays in the highest oil pressure position without any change in that reading ever. Not sure why or how to tell whats causing it?

Likely it's your oil pressure sensor. I know the I6 engine very well, but not sure on the V8 the location of it. Locate it, if it has oil on it, it's bad.
