why is my door chime going constantly. is there a sensor on door that recognises when door is shut

The door ajar light came on and stayed on. I disconnected the wires but the door chime is going constantly. can anyone help

Did you mean the small red and white light, in the door? If so, there is a button, that will push forward, when you closed the door, just like in refrigerator.
