My recently purchased 06 pontiac gto has an on/off switch on the console located in front of the storage area. What does it turn on/off.

When key is on do any of the dash lights come on or off? Such as Trac off,od off. The switch may cancel lighting glove box or storage area. Is there a pictograph on or near the switch. I will google this for you and have an answer shortly.
